Learn How To Play The Music You Love

From a professional New York City musician!

WANT TO LEARN HOW TO PLAY THE MUSIC YOU LOVE?

Hi there! My name is Chris. I teach music to people just like you and I help people achieve their musical dreams!

I teach many things when it comes to music, but mainly I teach piano and voice. I offer private lessons, courses, masterclasses, and workshops.

I teach how to play piano by ear by teaching the system that professional musicians use to learn songs quickly. You can be one of those people who hears a song on the radio once and then can sit down and play it instantly. It is not a magic trick. It is a system that you can learn.

I also teach singing and rapping lessons where I help my students improve their technique, build their confidence, and ultimately teach them how to build a career in music.

Now, no matter where you live in the world, you can learn how to play the music you love from a professional New York City musician!  I teach lessons to students of ALL AGES and ALL SKILL LEVELS! From piano to singing to rapping to music theory to beat production, whatever it is that gets you excited about music, that is what we will focus on!

“I really love teaching how to play piano by ear. I can teach you the system that professional musicians use to learn songs and learn them fast. Within a few weeks, you can start playing some of the songs you know and love. We, of course, also include some bookwork as well to cover reading and theory, but I always make sure the lessons focus on the things that YOU want to learn.  Playing by ear is what made piano fun for me growing up, so I love transferring that onto my students! I also really love to help singers and rappers improve their technique and build their confidence. And ultimately, I love helping aspiring artists learn how to build a sustainable career in music!”

I also teach a lot of other things when it comes to music. What are you into?

What Are The People Saying?

“What I’ve really loved so far is how inclusive the lessons are - really meeting you where you’re at, customizing to your goals and your lifestyle, and being really encouraging. For someone starting as an adult Chris has really managed to wipe away a lot of the fear and self-doubt associated with being a “late starter” and I feel really excited about the possibilities.”
— Diana M. (Student)
“Chris is an excellent teacher to our daughter, who has dyslexia. He is patient and relaxed and she actually enjoys going to piano lessons! She doesn’t enjoy most things that are challenging, so that’s a huge accomplishment.”
— Katie N. (Student's Mom)
“Chris is awesome! He tailored my lessons to help me cover the skills that I most needed/wanted to work on while continuing to cover the basic materials he takes all his students through. He’s professional, easy-going, flexible, and is a super talented player. Highly recommended for students of any playing level, or any age!”
— Russ M. (Student)
“I can’t put in words how great Chris has been in getting me to finally recognize pitches and sing in key. He has taken his own time after the lessons to make extra videos and answer my texts.”
— John S. (Student)
“Chris is absolutely amazing! He helped me when I didn’t know where to find the melodies or if I couldn’t come up with an idea for where the song could go. I HIGHLY recommend him as a songwriter! I’m super picky and absolutely loved chris!”
— Ashley C. (Recording Artist)
“If you are looking for fun and rewarding piano lessons, Chris Swan is the man to go to. Music is his life and it shows. He is very easy to work with and will tailor the lessons around what the student wants. Whether you want to learn to play popular songs that you hear on the radio (by ear) or learn how to read and play sheet music, Chris does it all. I’ve enjoyed learning from him over the last 2 years and would definitely recommend him for anyone looking to learn piano for the first time or pick things up again! Ask him how to play “Africa” by Toto...you won’t regret it!”
